GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT FORMATTING:
Please use 10 point 'Times' font.
Use bold capitalized font for the title paragraph and normal font for the authors/affiliations and body paragraphs (as below).
Begin abstract. Indentation not required. Headers (such as "Objectives"/"Background", "Methods"/"Materials", "Results", "Conclusions") are suggested but not required.
If you set the size of the printed region on the page to 5.8 inches wide and 10. inches high (i.e. a 6.8"W X11."H page with 0.5" margins all around), the layout will simulate that of a single column of the two-column format published in the journal, and the abstract will fit in about 3/4 of a full column in the journal if it does not wrap to a second page.
You may download an abstract template for Microsoft Word which has those settings. Simply paste your content, save, and use that to upload.
There is no fixed size limitation, but we suggest limiting to <500 words.
Since formatted files are uploaded, abstracts may include figures and tables as permitted by your word processor. However, the maximum size of the uploaded files is 1,000 kb. Please contact us (abstracts@simd.org) if you require special arrangements.
Submit abstracts on-line, not as hardcopy. You do need to forward the non-exclusive license agreement showing that all authors agree to publishing the abstract (only needs to be signed by one author- mail, scan/email, or fax to Leslie Lublink).
All abstracts accepted will be published in the journal Molecular Genetics and Metabolism.
Follow instructions on the on-line abstract submission form.
