The SIMD meeting will be held following the ACMG meeting (American College of Medical Genetics- March 24-28, 2010) and will include a joint session the afternoon of March 28th which will focus on metabolic causes of autism and neurodevelopmental disability. This joint session will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center from 10:30am-3:00pm (transportation provided for registered participants).
After the joint session the SIMD will host an opening reception at the Hotel Albuquerque from 7-10pm with the annual meeting starting at 8:00am on March 29th. The meeting will conclude on Wednesday, March 31st at noon. Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town is a unique blend of Native American, Mexican, Spanish and Western cultural traditions and is nestled in the heart of Albuquerque’s historical center, The result is a magical experience that allows guests of the hotel to discover more than 400 years of history and native New Mexican heritage. Adjacent to the hotel is Albuquerque’s historic Old Town, featuring over 200 shops, restaurants and art galleries.
The SIMD meeting will highlight talks on disorders of glycosylation, pediatric neurotransmitter disorders, current treatment and outcome of inborn
errors of metabolism, hearing and vision loss in metabolic disorders along with other topics. Please see the exciting scientific program,
highlighted here. In addition, the program will include presentations by
trainees and young investigators, and our Ask the Experts session where you can challenge the panel with unusual and unknown cases to test their
knowledge. There will also be an attended poster session and reception. As in the past, young trainees can apply for travel awards. CME credits
will be available.
