Message from the Editors of SIMD-NAMA

Colleagues:

We have successfully concluded the 4th annual SIMDNAMA course including the participation of sixteen SIMD members as faculty. Looking ahead to next year's course, we will be continuing our policy of refreshing one fourth of the faculty on a yearly basis. Thus we are coming to the SIMD membership to solicit interest in this important project. The 2012 SIMDNAMD course will take place in October 2012. NAMA faculty members are expected to commit to a four year term of participation. In the first year, faculty observe the didactic lectures and participate in small group interactive sessions, each of which constitutes about half of the curriculum. Subsequently, each faculty member delivers 2 or 3 didactic lectures from a pre-prepared set of slides. We do our best to match lecture assignments to areas of faculty interest and specific expertise. If you are interested in joining the NAMA faculty, please send your current cv and a brief letter describing any specific educational interests and experience to Jerry Vockley (gerard.vockley@chp.edu<mailto:gerard.vockley@chp.edu><mailto:gerard.vockley@chp.edu>). Please note that if you expressed interest at the last request for faculty, we strongly encourage you consider it again. The selection process will be completed in time for you to participate in the NAMA faculty meeting to be held in conjunction with the 2012 SIMD meeting. Please consider participating in providing a sound introduction to trainees in our field.
