SOCIETY FOR INHERITED METABOLIC DISORDERS |
Membership to the SIMD is open to individuals with a demonstrated professional commitment to research and treatment of inherited disorders of metabolism. Affiliate memberships are available for both physician trainees and professionals in other areas with complementary activities or special interests in metabolic disorders. Applicants, supported by at least one recommendation from an SIMD member, should communicate directly with the Membership Director of the SIMD.
The following membership fee categories
(adjusted, 2022) are available:

Molecular Genetics and Metabolism, the official journal of the SIMD,
except as indicated.)
Regular Member excluding trainees - $295/yr
Non-Doctoral Member - $130/yr
Trainee - $130/yr (up to 3 years)
Affiliate Membership (other than academic/direct metabolic research/healthcare) - $295/yr
Emeritus, without MGM subscription option - $0
Emeritus, plus MGM subscription option - $95/yr
Developing/Other Nation Member - $130/yr --reduced dues available to those from nations with yearly classification other than High Income in the World Bank Economies of countries (see the World Bank List of Economies for more information).
Developing/Other Nation Associate/Trainee - $45/yr (up to 3 years) --further discount available for associates or trainees at centers in other nations, without subscription to the journal
Dues are invoiced annually, in May or June.
To apply for membership:
Applicants will be notified when all application materials have been received, and when there are results of membership decisions (see below). Please do not send dues payments at the time of application.
